Camilla Easter
Dr Camilla Easter is CEO of Oxford Medical Products, where she leads development of Sirona, a hydrogel-based pill designed to aid weight loss without drugs or injections. Swallowed as a capsule, Sirona expands in the stomach to increase feelings of fullness, and the company positions it as a complement to GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy: an earlier intervention for people not yet eligible for those drugs, a way to help people maintain weight loss after coming off them, or an alternative for those who cannot tolerate or afford pharmacological treatment.
Camilla trained as a veterinary surgeon before moving into biotech startups, and has nine years' experience as a CEO and COO working exclusively on hydrogel-based medical devices. She took on the CEO role at Oxford Medical Products in 2019, and has since overseen a randomised controlled trial showing participants lost up to 10% of their body weight with no serious adverse events, alongside FDA approval to begin a larger US trial.
