Lord William Hague of Richmond is the Chancellor of the University of Oxford, elected to the role in November 2024. He studied PPE at Magdalen College, Oxford, and served as MP for Richmond for 26 years, including as Leader of the Conservative Party from 1997 to 2001 and as Foreign Secretary from 2010 to 2014.

As Chancellor, he has spoken about the case for Oxford and the UK to combine talent, technology and capital in order to scale world-class research ideas into world-class companies.
